GMIT Prospectus 2022/23

Joining a society simply entails signing up at the Students’ Union of fi ce or signing up at Clubs and Societies Day which is held in the fi rst and second semester. Information on Clubs and Societies is widely publicised on campus, particularly on the SU website, Facebook, Twitter and in the SU newsletter. If you don’t see what you are looking for then simply call to the Students’ Union for a chat and we will send you on your way to starting up a new society. We can help you brainstorm ideas, get them down on paper, and set up your fi rst meeting. We can also help with ideas for fundraising, activities, organisation, and publicity. GMIT is af fi liated to the Board of Irish College Societies (BICS), which provides access to a wealth of information on societies and advice on the best practice. BICS run national awards at the end of each academic year to reward the huge effort made by af fi liated colleges and to celebrate the vital importance and value the societies and their activities bring to member colleges. For further information on Societies at GMIT, please contact the SU Of fi ce at +353 91 742264 or email suof fi ce@gmit.ie www.gmitsulife.ie For information on Societies at the Mayo Campus contact the Sports Of fi cer, Nigel Jennings on +35387 2496348 or email: nigel.jennings@gmit.ie
