Student experience

Ashleen Nee Erasmus, Sofia Bulgaria

I travelled to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria for my Erasmus in the second semester of third year in Industrial Design. Here, I stayed in a place called Studentski Grad (student city) in a very small but cosy apartment. I shared this space with a fellow Erasmus student from France. Overall, there were over two hundred Erasmus students from all the corners of Europe who came together here to study a wide range of different subjects all around Sofia’s Universities. I was a part of the academy of art. I carried out my semester project with the industrial design course in their faculty of applied art in the heart of the city. I made so many new friends, both native and all across Europe. Together, we travelled a huge amount mainly to the surrounding countries. Some examples include Bucharest Romania, Istanbul Turkey, Athens Greece and also explored a huge amount of Bulgaria as it is a very large and surprising country. If you are thinking about going on Erasmus I would one hundred percent recommend it. I had so many opportunities, met some wonderful people as well as developing personally, culturally and emotionally as an individual.
