RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN GMIT

In 2020, GMIT opened an extension doubling the size of Galway iHub to: • 2,400 m 2 , providing eight dedicated MedTech R&D Units

GMIT’s integrated approach to Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) is delivered through its Research Centres and Innovation Hubs. We apply our knowledge in Intellectual Property and business incubation, to link companies and Institutional expertise, and work with national and international partners. GMIT Innovation Hubs GMIT has two business innovation centres, in Galway and in Mayo. The iHubs offer incubation space and a range of business development supports to assist regional start-up companies and entrepreneurs in the Digital Tech, Medtech, Software as a Service (SAAS) and Marine Tech. GMIT’s iHubs provide entrepreneurs with a supportive entrepreneurial environment as they progress their idea from concept to commercial success.

A dedicated Entrepreneurship Hub will help GMIT researchers, staff, students and Industry to work collaboratively on the creation and development of innovative ideas in support of an Open Innovation Strategy.
