GMIT is a multi-campus, multi-discipline, multi-award-winning institute serving a diverse student body of approximately 7,000 students. It is a student-centred organisation with a primary focus on learning and teaching informed by research. Our student-centred learning initiatives are available across all campuses including Galway City (Dublin Road and the Centre for Creative Arts and Media), Mayo (Castlebar), Letterfrack and Mountbellew. GMIT provides student-centred learning opportunities to empower learners to be successful at third level and in their future careers. The initiatives are designed to engage the learner in college life and to create a sense of belonging from day one in GMIT.
