Mathematics Entry Examination This Mathematics Entry Examination is for students who have not achieved the required grade in maths for admission to a selection of GMIT courses. This provides students, who have otherwise achieved the entry requirements to GMIT, with a ‘second chance’ opportunity to achieve the grade required in maths. The entrance examination is based on the ordinary level leaving certi fi cate syllabus, and the examination is of a comparable standard to the leaving certi fi cate ordinary level paper. Candidates who achieve a pass mark (40% or more) in this examination are deemed to have met the minimum mathematics entry requirements for GMIT courses other than those speci fi ed in Table 1. No additional CAO points are awarded. Candidates who pass the exam and meet all other entry requirements and have enough points for their chosen course in GMIT will receive an offer of a place in Round 2 of CAO. For further details on the Mathematics Entry Examination please see: https://www.gmit.ie/apply/enabling-maths MATURE APPLICANTS Mature Applicant Guidelines GMIT welcomes applications from mature applicants: EU nationals aged 23 on or before 1st January, 2021.
