Luke Cunningham I am a qualified Staff Nurse working in the Bon Secour Hospital in Cork after qualifying from the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in General Nursing course in GMIT Mayo. My GMIT Mayo journey began in 2014 when I was offered a place after completing my pre-Nursing course. Being so far from home, my plan was to transfer to Cork once my first year had ended in Mayo. Within a week of

arriving I knew I had found somewhere special that I wouldn’t want to leave. The College itself is quite small which meant that I was able to mix with people from all courses and from all walks of life. Smaller class sizes meant that lecturers got to know us as individuals and by name. Time was always made for us to speak with lecturers and practical classes were almost individualised. GMIT Mayo was the most unique, fulfilling and exciting experience in my life. All members of staff are warm, welcoming and supportive. I am proud to say that I am a graduate of GMIT MAYO.
