This ranking confirms our position among the world’s elite educational institutions. Meanwhile, our university rose into the Top 300 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2019/20. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) In 2020, the new Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings placed NUI Galway tenth in the world for addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for research on life below water and support for aquatic ecosystems, and 68th in the world for addressing the 17 SDGs overall. Rankings are designed to help prospective students make informed comparisons between leading universities around the world.
