Disability Support Service The Disability Support Service (DSS), part of the Access Centre, provides support to students who have a disability or learning difficulties, including: • Autism spectrum disorder, including Asperger ’s syndrome; • ADD/ADHD;

Societies With 126 active societies at NUI Galway, there is something for everyone. As part of a society, you can learn new skills, explore your interests, create a community of friends with similar interests and goals and, of course, have great fun. At Spraoi, the focus is on learning through play, and sensory play. Parents of children who are interested in enrolling children in the crèche should contact spraoinuig@gmail.com . The DSS works closely with academic staff and other support services to enable students with a disability to become independent learners and successful graduates. If you have one or more of the above disabilities and require particular supports, it is important that you register with the DSS as soon as you accept your offer from NUI Galway by completing the online registration form at www.nuigalway.ie/disability . Students’ Union At the centre of campus, the student experience is amplified by the Students’ Union (SU). The SU aims to take your voice to the university at every level. Student representatives are in each college, ensuring that all students can have their say via their rep. Your SU complements the university’s provision of welfare services, and can offer advice and support to students.
