The humanities encompasses vital areas of intellectual, critical, and creative inquiry, from the study of foreign languages to philosophy, history, literature, creative writing, journalism and drama. We investigate traditions that inform the present and lay the foundation for transforming the future through engaged teaching and research. NUI Galway is home to the world-recognised Moore Institute, a thriving community of academics, researchers and creative thinkers. We collaborate internationally and support major research projects in Ireland, Europe, and around the world, in part by drawing on rich archival collections here, including the world’s largest theatre digitisation project.
