Extra-curricular Activities at GMIT The Students’ Union supports and funds all student clubs, societies and activities within GMIT. All clubs and societies are entirely run by students for students. Extra- curricular activities provide students with invaluable opportunities to meet others and develop new interests. No matter where your interests lie, you are bound to meet someone here who shares them. Whichever way you like to fill your spare time, there will be a club, society or activity on campus for you. And if there isn’t, you can start your own with our help. For further possibilities on maintaining an active lifestyle at GMIT please visit www.gmitsulife.ie Clubs and Societies GMIT has over 20 societies offering a range of opportunities for social interaction and personal development. You can join groups such as:

• Cumann na Gaeilge • GMIT student choir Or volunteer on or off campus for the GMIT President's Thrive Award for Volunteering. There's something for everyone. There are several benefits of being a member of a society: enhance your social life, increase your chances of employment after your college career is finished, improve your skills and abilities and most importantly, make new friends and enjoy the experience of being a member of a society. Societies are a great way to meet people with similar interests. Many people find that they make their best college friends through joining a society and it’s a great way to meet people outside your accommodation, course and even from another campus.
